Guardiola set to leave Barcelona? Coach wounded after shattering defeat
Pep Guardiola says he will make a decision on his Barcelona future in the coming days, as reports circulate suggesting he is ready to quit the Camp Nou after the defeat to Chelsea.
Barcelona led 2-0 on the night through Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta and Chelsea had had John Terry sent off. The Blues stormed back into contention through a Ramires goal, before Lionel Messi missed a penalty early in the second half.
Chelsea then defended with a line of six at the back, and Barcelona could not get the extra goal they needed. The final ignominy came when Chelsea substitute Fernando Torres rounded Victor Valdes to score in injury time.
Guardiola is yet to sign an extension to his current one-year deal, but he revealed the matter would be cleared up one way or the other in the imminent future.
"I'll make a decision in the coming days," he said. "I'll talk with the president in the coming days and we'll decide what's the best for the club."
