Description Echinops ritro subsp. ruthenicus ‘Platinum Blue’ An erect, clump-forming perennial which has deeply lobed, dark green, thistle-like leaves, and white, branched, leafy stems which from late summer into autumn bear spherical, blue flowerheads. Grow in a hot position in well drained soil in full sun, but will grow in almost any other soil or position except for heavy shade. It will reach a height of 1m and a spread of 60cm.
