Description Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’ Golden Japanese Forest Grass. A graceful, clump-forming perennial with arching, narrow leaves striped with golden-yellow and green, creating a cascading effect. The foliage takes on a pinkish-red tint in autumn, adding seasonal interest. From August to September, it may produce small, delicate flowers, though its foliage is the main attraction. Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 40cm and a spread of 40-60cm.
