Description Helleborus niger ‘Christmas Carol’ Christmas Rose. A short, clump-forming, semi-evergreen perennial which has deeply divided, glossy dark green, leathery leaves. From January to March, flat, pure white flowers, sometimes green-flushed, with pale yellow centres are borne. Grows in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil, will grow in heavy, neutral to alkaline soils in full sun or dappled shade. It will reach a height of 30cm and a spread of 50cm.
